Have you heard those bells? That sound is what helps The Salvation Army provide services year around. It takes only a few hours of your time to make a significant impact in changing a person's life by ringing a bell. It is fun, easy, fast, and convenient to do. With over 300 locations throughout Chicagoland, there are a variety of times and places where you can get involved. It is a perfect opportunity for an individual, friends, family, or a group to volunteer.
If you are a company there are a variety of ways for you and your employees to get involved and start a meaningful holiday tradition. Your company can have a kettle at your place of business letting employees, clients, and visitors donate to The Salvation Army right in your office. You could adopt-a-kettle and choose a kettle location where you and your employees can ring throughout the season. Additionally, you can make an even greater commitment by matching the funds that are raised for a designated time of your choosing. Finally, as the world moves to the internet, you could host an online kettle on your website and allow people to support The Salvation Army in a fast and convenient way. No matter which option or options you choose, we are happy to partner with you and work together to make our community a better place to live and work.
If you are a school there is the Christmas Kettle Challenge. You and your school can join together to make a difference within your community, earn service hours, build some school pride, and join in a friendly competition with other area schools to win the Christmas Kettle Trophy. All this can be done by ringing a bell. Just choose a location (or locations) and the dates you will ring at a kettle. The hours you volunteer ringing count toward your service hours, and the money you raise is counted toward your school's effort. The school that raises the most money gets to house The Salvation Army's Travelling Christmas Kettle Trophy. This is a great opportunity for you and your friends, teams, clubs, organizations, and even your parents to represent your school and directly help your community.
