FAMILY and COMMUNITY SERVICES
Our vision is to restore and promote individuals, families and communities through crisis intervention, counseling, casework, homemaker and violence prevention and intervention services. We assist all persons, regardless of age, race, religion, socio-economic level or disability. Each individual has self-worth and the right to self-determination. With appropriate assistance, persons have the ability to change themselves and their situations.
We are especially committed to families who are most in need and vulnerable, who have limited resources and are unable, or do not know how, to find help.
The Salvation Army Family & Community Services provides the following services

Victim Case-management Services:
Over the past three years we have provided recovery services to hurricane/flood victims from the Gulf who have relocated to Illinois. Many of these folks lost everything in the storms of September 2005 and are now trying to regroup and start their lives over again in a new part of the country. At present we are providing the same type of services to Midwest flood victims.
Human Trafficking Outreach:
Human trafficking is the entrapment of persons in various slave-like forms of labor and sexual exploitation. This service reaches out to trafficking victims in the Chicago area, enabling them to escape their terrible situation and then assisting them to start a new life and to deal with the trauma they experienced.
Senior Services:
We provide comprehensive counseling and case-management services to frail seniors and their care-givers.
Marriage/family Life Education:
We provide marriage enrichment/family life groups for low income populations.
Family and Community Services work closely with other Salvation Army programs so that all of our clients can benefit from the multiple services offered by The Salvation Army in Metropolitan Chicago.
