Salvation Army Month (March 1 - March 31)

The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division is being recognized for 125 years of service to people in need by having March proclaimed Salvation Army Month.

This honor was bestowed on The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division by Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, who issued proclamations designating March as The Salvation Army Month in the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois respectively.

Dedication of THe Salvation ARmy CrossGenerations Worship and Community Center (March 13)

CrossGenerations Worshp and Community CenterThe Salvation Army is opening a community center in Blue Island, Saturday March 13th at 1PM. The center is located at 2900 W. 127th Street, Blue Island, IL. Come out and join us. Tours of the new facility will be offered following the ribbon cutting ceremony.   

 


BowlingIFMA Charity Bowl (April 15)

The Illinois Facility Management Association (IFMA) will hold its Ninth Annual Charity Bowl-A-Thon. The fundraising event will assist The Salvation Army in its fight to alleviate homelessness and hunger in Chicagoland, and to continue support of a variety of youth service programs, including Head Start, character building programs, tutoring, after school programs, summer camp, and much more.                                       


donut day 200872nd Annual Donut Day (June 4 - 5)

Help "Take a Bite Out of Hunger" on June 4th and 5th, 2010 by giving to Donut Day taggers. Funds raised during Donut Day support feeding programs for children, seniors, the homeless, and families in need.

The Salvation Army will participate at the 81st Bud Billiken Day Parade,
an annual celebration featuring a variety of entertainment to be enjoyed
by all.

 


Hope Fore KidsSeventh Annual “Hope Fore Kids” Golf Classic (August 17)

Learn from the Pros, enjoy lunch, golfing, contests, silent auction, raffle drawing and dinner reception to benefit youth programs.

 

 


Starlighter at Hyatt Regency Chicago (November 2)

The Salvation Army’s 2010 season of giving will get off to a festive start November 2 when the Army hosts several hundred friends and supporters at the Starlighter Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. The Starlighter is the kickoff of the Chicago-area’s annual Red Kettle fund raising campaign.


Tree of LightsTree of Lights Ceremony (November 18)

Join The Salvation Army on November 18 to light the grand tree. Kick off the holiday season on Michigan Avenue, bring the entire family, enjoy entertainment, guest speakers and the illumination of the tree. This event starts The Salvation Army's holiday season and kettle campaign.
