Arts Instructor/Kroc/Chicago

Part Time Position. The position of Arts Instructor is responsible for the teaching classes in Visual Art, Music, Dance and Theater; based on the offerings of the Academy of the Arts for the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. The Arts Instructor works directly with the Visual Arts, Music or Dance/Theater Managers (depending on arts discipline applied for) and the Director of the Arts Academy in developing course syllabi and class instruction consistent with the mission of the Salvation Army. This is a part-time position requiring scheduled attendance at the center and events outside of the regular work day.

Music Teacher/DHQ-Programs/Chicago

Part Time Position. Work with children and adults in the Corps and community to plan and implement a music program which will include teaching theory, performance skills, music and values.

Office Administrator/St. Charles

Part time position will provide a positive first contact with the public including volunteers, donors, and beneficiaries of the Salvation Army, Coordinate and implement volunteer programs, which will include the Red Kettle (bell ringing) and Donut Day fundraising programs. Support the administrative staff and officers in the everyday business of the corps. Assist in corps and public awareness through the website. Minimum of a High School Graduate or GED Equivalent. A 2 year degree is preferred.
Experience (2 years) in administrative support and/or volunteer management. An exposure to social services or faith-based organizations is preferred.

Food Pantry Assistant /DeKalb

Part-time position that will be responsible for managing the food pantry in a manner that ensures it is an effective part of the Corps’ ministry. All responsibilities for planning, developing, implementing, maintaining, evaluating, and providing recognition for an effective volunteer program are accomplished so that volunteers are an integral part of the ongoing activities of the site. Part-time position will provide piano/instrumental accompaniment for worship services. Individual must be proficient in playing piano and/or various instruments. Along with a proficiency in sight reading and choral/instrumental accompaniment. Experience with diverse styles of music and ability to perform with a variety of ensembles.
