On Friday, December 8, The Salvation Army and WBBM are once again joining forces to bring you the WBBM Good Neighbor Radiothon benefiting the Bed & Bread Club®. From 5 a.m. – 11 p.m., WBBM 780 AM & 105.9 FM will broadcast live from Woodfield Mall with volunteers from WBBM Newsradio and The Salvation Army answering your call to raise funds through the support of listeners like you. All proceeds help provide services for people who are homeless or hungry.
On any given night in Chicago, nearly 6,000 men, women and children are homeless. Every day, thousands come to The Salvation Army throughout Chicagoland looking for food, shelter and other basic necessities that, for one reason or another, they no longer have access to. That’s why we created the Bed & Bread Club — to combat homelessness and hunger in our community.
Now, as we enter the holiday season and 2018 draws near, we’re actively building capacity to better meet the needs of our neighbors. In the coming months, The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division in Chicagoland will expand our services to homeless families at our new facility, Shield of Hope.
Need is greatest during the winter months. Thousands seek refuge from the chilling cold, and many families want nothing more than a nourishing holiday meal together. Help us fulfill the promise we set forth every day to feed, shelter and care for as many of our hurting neighbors as we can.
Tune in to WBBM Newsradio 780 & 105.9FM on Friday, December 8th for the Good Neighbor Radiothon benefiting the Bed & Bread Club and give us a call at 1-844-361-8400 to show your support. Can’t wait? You can make an online donation today, securely and easily. And then tell the world that you contributed to the Radiothon by tweeting, sharing, posting, etc.
Your generosity will help us do even more good in 2018.
