The Salvation Army Responds to Floods in Albany Park, Provides Relief Center

Mayfair Corps Community Center to be open for local residents and their pets

This evening, severe weather system alerts for flooding were announced throughout the Chicago and surrounding areas, which included the Albany Park community. The Salvation Army has deployed its Emergency Disaster Service (EDS) teams to Albany Park neighborhood in Chicago to respond to floods while providing relief, shelter and ministry care at Mayfair Corps Community Center location. 

  • Starting at 6pm tonight, The Salvation Army Mayfair Corps will be a flood relief location: 5020 N Pulaski Road, Chicago, IL 60630. (map/directions)
  • People and their pets will be welcome.
  • EDS teams will be providing food/hydration for up to 24 hours and will be on-site to handle the City flood referrals.

Due to the emergency situation, The Salvation Army cannot guarantee that any individual donations of household goods or clothing (gifts-in-kind) will be sent to the disaster area. In times of disaster, our stores fill these needs from existing, pre-sorted stock. PLEASE continue to donate gently-used household goods to your local Salvation Army store.
