The Salvation Army held its 12th Annual “Hope Fore Kids” Golf Classic at The Glen Club, 2901 W. Lake Avenue in Glenview, on Tuesday, September 8. The tournament included a full day of leisure activities. Beginning with a golf clinic with professional Emil Esposito, followed by lunch and golf with a shotgun start at 11:45 a.m.. The event culminated in an evening beverage reception and dinner that included a live auction and awards program. This year’s event was presented by Bandon Dunes and KemperSports.
The event attracted 100 golfers from Chicagoland’s business and philanthropic communities and also included special guests, former athletes Bob Love and Carlos May. The tournament raised more than $140,000 toward The Salvation Army’s youth programs, which include child care, before-school and after-school programs, art, music and educational instruction, emergency shelter, character-building programs and other recreational activities.
