Every summer, The Salvation Army hosts a music camp at Wonderland Camp in Wisconsin. More than 200 children attend the three sessions to learn new instruments, practice and perform new music, and take part in typical camp activities such as swimming, archery and bonfires. “We certainly hope our campers leave having learned how to develop their musical abilities and grow closer to God,” said Erica Johnson, Salvation Army Assistant Music and Gospel Arts Director.
This year, the campers welcomed Captain Shield as their honored guest. He hung out with the campers at the pool, played sports and conducted some of the practice sessions. He even served as guest judge during Metro Music Camp’s Got Talent! “Captain Shield was great,” said Johnson. “He met new friends and we loved having him here.”
