CHICAGO, April 27, 2013— The Salvation Army will distribute an additional 3,000 clean-up kits in the following locations and until supplies last.
Saturday, April 27
We will be distributing clean-up kits to residents of Bloom Township at 425 S. Halsted, Chicago Heights on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until supplies last.
Monday, April 29
We will be distributing clean-up kits to residents in the western suburbs on Monday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. until supplies last at the Des Plaines Corps Community Center at 609 West Dempster Street.
We will be distributing clean-up kits to residents of Proviso Township on Monday, April 29, from 10 a.m. until supplies last at 4565 W. Harrison St., Hillside.
The kits include a bucket, gloves, mask, mop, brooms, sponges, garbage bags, bleach and other cleaning agents. The Salvation Army distributed more than 1,000 clean-up kits earlier this week in Albany Park (Chicago), Des Plaines, Norridge, Aurora and Winnebago County. Volunteers worked around the clock on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 26, to assemble the additional 3,000 kits.
The Salvation Army will also offer long-term flood relief efforts, including emergency financial assistance for furniture, clothing, food, rent and utilities for those who qualify.
